I was a band geek in high school. That meant a lot of time commitment, trips, fun, and t-shirts. More precisely, enough t-shirts to make a pretty large quilt. I've bought the necessary materials - batting, backing, lots of thread - but I still can't bring myself to actually cut up the t-shirts (and the memories!). In the meantime, I've been studying up about quilting, and hoping that my first - and most important - quilting project turns out spectacular.
I intend to base the quilt off this tutorial. The idea is the same, but the blocks will be bigger than the ones used here.
I like the straightforward and simple instructions of this video.
Although rather long, this video is a good tutorial on how to bind the quilt.
A picture-based tutorial on binding (and the fabric is so cute!).
And just in case a rare moment of bravery comes through, here are tips on free-motion quilting.
A Geek with a Dream is my personal collection of inspiration. There are DIY project ideas, recipes, beauty and fashion tips, personal photographs, and random thoughts. Enjoy and always remember to smile c:
