Wishlist: A Beautiful Home

I can't believe summer's almost over! In less than a month, I have to move back to school and begin classes. On the bright side, I get a new apartment to decorate and just have fun organizing!

I love the beach cottage feel of this headboard and bedframe.

Soft blue cabinets are a great way to bring some color into the kitchen.

Wall shelves instead of a headboard is perfect for a night reader.

The glass door and incorporated toilet are my favorite parts of this modern bathroom.

This wooden table and bowl could inspire a rustic washbasin.

Recipe: Clam Chowder

Clam chowder is a soup that looks and sounds like a challenge to make, but takes less than an hour with minimal trouble - perfect for impressing company.

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients:

3 6.5oz cans chopped clams (undrained)
8oz bottle clam juice
2-3 medium potatoes
1 cup chopped onion
1-2 garlic cloves
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup half-and-half
salt and pepper to taste

Let's Get Started!

1. Chop onion and mince garlic. Place onion and garlic in clay pot with a light layer of oil. Cook until tender.

3. Add drained clam liquid, clam juice, potato, and bay leaf. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until potato is tender. Discard bay leaf.
