Daily Planning

Last year, I found myself juggling a part time lab position and four tutoring jobs while attempting to go to school full time. Time management became a necessity. I took a week to just write, every day, what I did from the moment I woke up to the moment I fell asleep. I realized just how much time I spent doing absolutely nothing - time that adds up over a week.

My strategy was simple - every night, before bed, I would make a schedule for the next day. I planned out when I would attend class, go to work, run errands, and do chores. Writing things out hour by hour, I could keep track of how much time I spent on each thing - so I could avoid getting distracted and off track. Checking the weather also helped insure that the next morning, I wouldn't be standing in front of my closet wondering what to wear.

My schedule soon expanded to include other things I needed to do daily - but often skipped over - such as drinking enough water, eating enough fruit, and exercising. By forcing myself to write everything down, at the end of every week, I can look by and change the amount for the following week based on how well I did.

I decided to make a digital template of my schedule - one I use consistently [inside of writing on random scratch paper] and can print on half a sheet of paper to store.

When making a daily schedule, don't pack an entire day with work and chores! Be sure to plan time for transportation, and breaks! There is a 50-10 rule [50 minutes work, 10 minutes break], but I personally don't like being interrupted in the middle of a paper or project. Instead, I plan a half hour break to catch up on social media, or take a short walk after about 2 hours of work.

Happy planning!

DIY: ClothesPin Display

Since I recently rearranged furniture around my room, I freed up a large space on the wall. I moved my photos to the wall in my DIY Heart Photo Collage, leaving my bulletin board quite empty. I had a few postcards, sketches, and cards laying around, so with some twine and cute clothespins, I hung them up. It was super simple and easy - a quick DIY project.

[The Disney drawings above the board were part of a care package from my best friend. She painted them on the flaps of the box - aren't they amazing?]

Let's Get Started!

1. Attach the clothespins along the twine.

2. Use thumbtack to pin to board or wall. For  boards, stapling work  well too.

And You're Done!

It's a beautiful Saturday, and I really wish I could be at the beach instead of the library. To make up for not being in the lovely Santa Monica - and to procrastinate work even more - I decided to go swimsuit hunting.

I'm not a huge fan of one-piece swimsuits but this simple one-shoulder one is just stunning.

I love the concept of high-waisted bottoms like this black and white spot bikini.

This floral bikini is so gorgeous!

A cherry swimsuit is a cute way to embrace the summer fruits.

Navy, scalloped, and high-waisted? Yes, please!

And for fun, my inner nerd is going crazy for this chemistry bikini.
