Glasses Frames!

Happy Saturday!

As a person with less-than-perfect vision, I personally prefer contacts, because it gives me the freedom to wear whatever pretty sunglasses I want. But there are always those days where I don't have time to put in contacts, or my eyes are just too stressed out to wear contacts comfortably - so I always have a pair of prescription glasses on hand to make sure I can actually see where I'm walking.

However functional they may be, glasses often become a fashion burden - the wrong size, shape, or design can make you look super old or nerdy. Just like our bodies, everyone's face is a different shape - and for every shape, there are glasses frames that compliment the face.

Picture
Circle Face:
If you have full cheeks, and a soft chin and forehead, then you have a circle face.
The best way to complement your face shape is to find a frame that is rectangular and angular, to give a sharper contrast to your soft features.

Picture
Square Face:
If you have a strong jaw and broad forehead, then you have a square face.
The best way to complement your face shape is to find a frame that is soft and round, to give a softer and gentler feel. Also, try to find a frame that sits high on the nose, to elongate your face.

Diamond Face:
If you have a narrow forehead and jaw, then you have a diamond face.
The best way to complement your face shape is to find a frame that sweeps up and gives a delicate touch to your sharper features. Oval shapes, such as the cat eye, provides a sophisticated and fashionable feel.

Oval Face:
If you have a longer face with soft edges, then you have a oval face.
The best way to complement your face shape is to find a frame that is rounder and deeper. An oversized frame that is just slightly wider than your face will prevent further elongating your face.

Picture
Rectangle Face:
If you have a longer face with a strong jaw and forehead, then you have a rectangle face.
The best way to complement your face shape is to find a frame that is curvy and round. Like with the oval face, a frame wider than your face will prevent further elongation.

Heart Face:
If you have a wide forehead and cheeks, and a narrow jaw, then you have a heart face.
The best way to complement your face shape is to find a frame that is delicate - preferably something rimless or with thin, light frames.

Everything your wear, necessity or otherwise, should be something you enjoy. These are my tips, but if you rock a different shaped pair of glasses, go for it! Find a comfortable pair of glasses that make you happy to wear them, and they will never be a fashion burden.
