I've been spoiled by the beaches of SoCal, so I like to refer to Bodega Bay as the "coast". The sand is a lot coarser, and the area was rocky, but the water was such a beautiful, clear shade of blue. Although quite windy and foggy in the morning, it turned out to be a really nice day out - perfect for hiking along the coast.
